In addition to their “iTripod”, Mobile Mechatronics today started to ship another very promising device: the iTwinge, a keyboard for the iPhone. I’ve waited for quite some time for someone to develop a keyboard, so I’m glad to see one coming to market.
The iPhone slips right into the iTwinge, with their physical keyboard covering up the space of the on-screen keyboard. Switch it on and when pressing physical keys, the keyboard does the “tapping” for you.
This is another product that looks very promising, although we have some reservations: How easily can you slip it on and off to use the full iPhone screen when the keyboard is not needed? How sturdy is it, how much will it hold up to everyday (ab)use and how easy is it to type on it? I’ve used many different smartphone keyboards in the past and the differences between a great and an unusable keyboard are often small.
We plan to review this keyboard very soon.
Price: $29.99 from Mobile Mechatronic’s Store
