We had predicted the “iTripods” would be out soon and here they are: Mobile Mechatronics today started to ship the Blur Tripod, which they call the world’s first iPhone tripod adapter, mini tripod and enhancement App.
Simply mount your iPhone on the adaptor, the adaptor on the mini tripod or an existing tripod/monopod and start shooting. When not needed any longer, the tripod should easily fit into a pocket of your jacket.
Additionally, you can get an enhancement app which allows you to do timed shots as well as multiple pictures for time lapse photography. The app is currently at Apple for approval.
This product sounds very promising, so we will get our hands on it to test how it holds up to the rigor of our outdoor photography and whether/how stable it is on various tripods, monopods and of course, Gorillapods. More soon in an in-depth review!
