Sites intended for mobile use that do not work on the iPhone

by Veit on 05/24/2009

Adobe Flash Lite Mobile @ iPhonephotoshow.com iphone photoAfter my fellow blogger and co-editor Joe gushed so much about this service called RunPee, I decided to give it a try in the movie theater right before the start of Angels and Demon. Alas, the site is written in Flash, so no luck viewing it on an iPhone.

Let me get this straight. If I watch TV at home, I can wait for a commercial break (I’m told they are quite frequent these days) or hit the pause button on my DVD player or TIVO / PVR. No need to use RunPee there. So its intended use is for people on the go, yet it does not support the #1 smart phone in the market it’s targeting? What am I missing? Can someone please help me figure this out?

But maybe the RunPee guys follow Journalism 101 to the letter — better a negative superlative than no superlative at all. They might simply hope that being known as the (you fill in here what you think) site will work out better for them than not being discovered at all. I wish them luck. And please send me the contact info of their VCs or angel investors…
